Boring entry-sorry

Isn't it amazing how God works? I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I didn't know I would absolutley love it!! It is so crazy how that works! If God would have given me a glimpse into my life now, 5 years ago I would have freaked out!! I was just getting ready to graduate high school, I was dating Dan and he and I had talked about marriage, etc, but I said I absoultey wouldn't get married 'til I graduated and was at a fulltime job for at least a year. I had no idea what that job would be but I told everyone that I wanted to be a teacher-it seemed easy enough. I knew in the back of my mind that God just hadn't revealed to me what I was going to do with my life yet as far as a career.

Lately, I have been feeling like I need a change as far as my job goes and in the process of thinking about and looking for a new job I have figured out that my job is perfect for right now. Everytime I would try to figure out in my head what kind of job I was looking for the one I have looks perfect across the board according to my criteria. Yes it is a long drive and gas isn't getting cheaper. I also get frustrated that I went to school for 4 years and people I work with who didn't go to school get paid more than I do.
However, I just need to be happy that I have a job. It is fulltime yet 1 or 2 of my shifts each week are to sleep (I literally sleep at work). It works out well with Calli, I get to spend all day with her and Dan and it is my choice to work 3rd shift. This summer Dan's job is going to start at 830 on the mornings that I have to work which means he gets to sleep in a little bit which is great for him. We will both be working fulltime and be home as a family from 2pm-10pm every weekday- how great is that. Then in Aug/Sept I will be watching my friend Lacey's baby- Jaiden Christopher who is about 2lbs in his mama's belly right now.

I guess I am just saying that I am very thankful for my job even though I know I complain about it quite a bit, I am sorry.

I am very satisfied with where my life has ended up thus far. I am very close with my family, I have met great people at RBC whom I have become close friends with, I have a husband who loves me and does more housework than I do, I get to coach softball and get paid for it, and I have a beautiful daughter who amazes me everyday.

Thanks for listening to me rant I just needed to have a little reality check about my life satisfaction if that makes sense.

SURPRISE!

Sunday we were at the store grocery shopping and Dan was entertaining Calli by racing up and down aisles. Next thing I know Dan came up behind me saying that she bit him and why hadn't I told him that she had a tooth. I admitted I didn't know she did and I stuck my finger in and got bit too.

Today was the first time she let us see her new pearly white and we found out she actually has BOTH her front bottom chompers coming in.

That explains why she has been more demanding of attention than usual. To show how different she has been acting the last week and a half-- if you know Calli pretty well you know she is definitley not a cuddler, well lately she as even been resting her head on my shoulder which she has never done- not even as an infant. I am loving this cuddly stage of hers even if it does mean I don't get much work done around the house because she is so dependent right now.

A question for other moms:
1) Calli has decided she doesn't like her bottles anymore, do you have any suggestions. She will drink like 3 oz in the morning and before bed from a bottle and if I am home to nurse her she gets between 8-12 oz. What she does is drink maybe 3 oz than fuss and push it away, grab it suck another 2 seconds push it away again, until she is crying. If you stop trying to give her a bottle than she stops crying. I can't imagine she is getting enough though. When I nurse her at those times she does it very easy so I know it is the bottle.

Spring Break- The Rest of the Story

As you can see Calli did get to go to the ocean. It was the very last day. She decided she liked the sand, and even the water until her and Dan got splashed. Her favorite part was her bath afterward in the sink where the team was staying.
Overall, this was a great "vacation." I still need a vacation this year that doesn't require getting up everyday at 630 for softball practice. When we got back I felt like I needed another week off work just to recover.

This is the team. Anytime we were with them they had Calli. It was great, they loved her, she loved them!

Dad and Calli doing some early driving lessons-just for pictures. Since this picture she has drove with Dan from the end of the driveway she thinks the horn is the coolest thing.

Of course my biology husband had to get some pics of jellyfish which were all over, but not as bad as some years I have been down there.

Playing in the swing

Aunt Holly and the kids came to the Northview vs. Hudsonville softball game to hang out. Then Anna stayed with Dan at the massacre (the first game was 3-0, second game 18-0). Calli went back to their house to get some dinner and get out of the nice warm wind that was like 40mph it seemed. It looks like she had a great time with her cousins. Thanks for updating the blog Aunt Hol!

oooppps....

I just realized I never put her "professional" pics up. I am just ordering them right now too. I am really bad at this and I only have one kid--it is goingt to be really bad when I have another one. Don't you love the one where she looks so mad at the world? It makes me laugh!

Spring Break 2008- The Pool

She loves to eat her glasses and actually she sat here and watched abou 8 kids play in the pool for almost an hour before we went inside because I was fried from practice this morning. Oh well no complaints I LOVE THE WEATHER!!
She loved the pool. Dan splashed her (imagine that) to see if she would be upset and she actually smiled about it. Too bad no one has a pool for this summer (***hint, hint Uncle Mike***)
We finally got a picture with her sunglasses one but let me tell you she wasn't happy about it!

I think we tired the oldies right out! They have enjoyed the vacation in the warm weather and have been very, very helpful with Calli.

Spring Break 2008-Lambert's Cafe

Lamberts is a tradition when we come down to this area. They literally throw rolls at you when you want one. That is the roll man behind Calli Jo.
This is Granny ready to get her first roll-too bad it ended up on the floor :( but Grandpa caught her next one for her. Later she got hit in the hair with a roll, when the guy behind her was trying to catch one.

I have no idea where Calli gets her inattentiveness??!!
Calli got her first ballon and she had a great time with hit she talked to it the whole way home!

Can you tell this is such a southern place considering all the food. Calli and I ate blackeyed peas, sweet potatoes, fried chicken, macaroni and tomatoes (mmm...) and who knows what else. Dan had BBQ pork and rolls, since he really doesn't like anything else! :)

Go Michigan!!

This was one of those sad days where I knew she probably would grow out of the outfit before she could wear it for any special reason so Dan figured out that Michigan was playing Bowling Green in softball so we stuck her in her gear!!

Blackberries and Calli Jo

She loves food and as you can tell blackberries were no exception

Playing with Landon

Becca and Landon came over for a visit a few weeks ago. They both were dressed cute and then Calli pooped through and Landon followed suite but only peed through. Kids don't you love 'em
